Clarisson Farm

Clarisson Farm was established in 2000 by a family. The idea was to combine a hobby with work and practise our knowledge, what we learned from growing up in the self-sufficient home. This made us appreciate an organic way of living, and that´s why organic farming was the only possible way how Clarisson farm can be!

First when we started for a short period of time we grew only grass fed cattle but quickly realised, that we should also grow grains to make a full circle out of our farming. Cattle produce is a base for great quality organic grains.

Clarisson’s farm purpose is to grow organic grains and cattle responsibly and sustainably. It can only be done if we preserve our nature, wildlife and maintain the naturalness of our produces. We care about our nature and that is also one important reason why our farm is trusted to take care one of our biggest national parks in Estonia named Matsalu National Park.

MATSALU NATIONAL PARK

Matsalu National Park has the largest open floodplains in Northern Europe and the most extensive coastal pastures in Europe. Matsalu National Park is known for its characteristic coastal pastures. Matsalu National Park was created to protect nesting birds, but there are many animal and plant species that need the help of the people to be preserved.

For centuries, Matsalu National Park has been balanced hand in hand with man and nature. Thanks to this, in Matsalu National Park you can find semi-natural communities that have practically disappeared elsewhere in Europe today. Without moderate human activity, the vast wetlands, where many animals, birds and plants live, could not be preserved. Matsalu National Park, is a paradise for bird watchers. Millions of migratory birds fly through every year or stay to nest.

Matsalu National Park is next to our Clarisson farm. We are also happy to say that Clarisson Farm has contributed for more than 15 years to the preservation of Matsalu National Park by maintaining the meadows of Matsalu National Park.
